The Bellante banner is a tribute to my family. My Grandfather, Charles, founded Charles Bellante Realty Company in 1925 using a similar banner in red and white. The company was passed down to my Father who taught me the value of hard work and a good education.
The banner has been modified to reflect the education my Father held so dear. The white lettering has been replaced with gold. The now cardinal and gold represent my alma mater, the University of Southern California. The gold lettering and black background represent our son’s alma mater, Purdue University.
We have been making world class, small lot, hand crafted, age worthy wines from Santa Barbara County fruit since 2000. People often ask me where I learned to make wine and I usually respond “I am a chemical engineer”. This has become such a joke around our house my family has threatened to put it on my tombstone. That’s fine with me as long as they serve my wines at the wake.
